Allowing Patients to Pick Between Virtual or In-Person Appointments

If you want patients to be able to select between an in-person or a virtual appointment, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to Settings > Appointment Types

  2. Rename the appointment type you want to add a virtual option for to "Appointment Name (in-person)." For example, if you currently have an appointment type called "Acute Visit" you'll want to rename this "Acute Visit (in-person). " If this is a new appointment type, select + New Appointment and create the in-person version.

  3. Create a new appointment type for the virtual-only option of this same appointment type. We already label virtual-only appointment types on the booking page so no need to include "virtual" in the name. For example, you can just call it "Acute Visit" as shown in the screenshot below.

  4. Enable the "Virtual Only" setting on the virtual appointment type.

  5. Apply any additional settings relevant to the virtual appointment type.

  6. Click Save at the bottom.

Now when you open your booking landing page and see the two versions of this appointment type. The patient can select between the in-person and the virtual option when booking their appointment:
