Ability for practices to start billing in the future for an individual sponsor

Occasionally, when a practice signs a deal with a sponsor/employer, they aren't quite ready to start billing the sponsor immediately. For example, they might need a few months to validate the data and get everything set up before they're ready to start charging sponsors. With this, we have the ability for practices to start billing in the future for an individual sponsor!

To configure whether billing begins in the future for a sponsor:

  1. Click on Admin

  2. Click on Sponsors

  3. Click + New Sponsor

  4. When creating a new sponsor, you will see the ability to adjust the billing start date

FAQs

  • When creating a new sponsor, will the billing start date always default to the first of the current month?

    • Yes - they will always default to the first of the current month. However, practices can choose to set the date to the first of the month for the upcoming 12 months!

  • If practices set a billing start date in the future when creating the sponsor, will a draft invoice for the current month be created?

    • No - a draft invoice will be created.

  • What happens if I change the billing start date after the sponsor has been created?

    • All draft and unpaid invoices will be marked as Cancelled. This may take a few minutes to occur.

  • If billing is disabled for the practice, will practices be able to set a billing start date for sponsors?

    • No - they will not be able to do so.

  • Is there a way to set a billing start date for the practice globally?

    • No - it must always be set at the individual sponsor level.
