You may wish to connect your personal Google calendar in Hint. This will allow your Hint calendar to block your availability for patient scheduling based on your personal calendar events. Your personal calendar events will be pulled over and reflected as "busy" periods on your Hint calendar, ensuring your privacy. This functionality is intentionally designed to safeguard your privacy by ensuring only time blocks are visible without revealing event details, such as titles or descriptions.

To connect your personal Google calendar to your new Hint calendar, please follow the steps below:

  1. Log in to Clinical

  2. Click Settings > Team

  3. Choose the provider

  4. Click Calendar & Availability

  5. Click "Connect Google Calendar"

  6. Follow the prompts to log into your desired Google account

  7. You will be redirected back to your Hint account and provider update page

Appointments created in your Hint Calendar will show on your synced Google Calendar, with the appointment type name. You will see an included hyperlink to open the appointment in Hint Clinical, within the description of the event in your Google calendar. We are not syncing any PHI to Google.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why do events only appear as 'busy' on Hint?

This design ensures privacy by blocking availability without importing event details like titles, participants, or descriptions.

What kind of events are synced?

All events from your Google Calendar scheduled during the integrated period will appear as 'busy' periods in Hint.

Can I modify this behavior?

No, the sync is designed specifically to prioritize privacy and function universally for all users without customization options. Additionally, events pulled from your Google Calendar will only show as 'busy' periods on Hint, ensuring privacy, while appointments created in Hint carry detailed information like appointment type and hyperlinks when synced to Google Calendar.
