In some instances, you will need to request a payment source migration from Stripe to complete the transition to Hint Payments. If so, Hint will notify you via email with these instructions.
Submit the Data Migration Request to Stripe
The owner of your Stripe account will need to log in to Stripe to request the secure data migration.
Please ensure you are logged in as the owner of the Stripe account before following the steps below. A developer, admin, or other user with access to the account will not be able to complete this step.
Go to the Stripe data migration request form
Confirm in the upper right corner you are in the correct Stripe account
For the type of data migration, select Export data out of Stripe to a third party
Under 'Which processor', select Rainforest Pay, which is the name of the underlying payment provider used by Hint Payments
For payment types, select Cards and ACH
For customers, select Full
For why, select Switching from Stripe to a different payment processor
Be sure to check the checkbox at the bottom authorizing the data export
Next Steps: Post-Migration Data Forward (Action Needed)
1. In a few days, Stripe will send you an email with the subject line "Stripe export migration request." This email will ask you to clarify if you're planning to leave Stripe altogether.
ACTION: Reply with the following statement: "I am moving to a different platform for payment processing and would like to proceed with the migration."
2. A few days later, Stripe will send another email asking you to confirm the details of the migration.
ACTION: Reply "I approve those details, please proceed."
3. A few days later, Stripe will send you an email notifying you that they have completed the export and stored the file on their SFTP server. This email will contain encrypted SFTP credentials within a PGP message.
ACTION: Upon receipt of this email, forward it to migration-data@hint.com and include the name of your Hint account so our team knows which account this request is for. We will complete the migration after you forward this email.
Once the data migration is complete, we will notify you via email. From that point on, all customer transactions will be processed through Hint Payments.
