Hint Spend Management suite gives your practice everything you need to handle business expenses in one place — credit cards, bill payments, and expense management — all included in your existing Hint subscription at no extra cost.

The Hint Card

Once activated, you'll receive a physical card in the mail. Key features include:

  • No annual fee

  • 1% unlimited cashback on all purchases, automatically applied to your balance two days after autopay

  • No credit check or personal guarantee required

  • Instant virtual card available immediately upon activation

  • Issue additional cards for team members, contractors, or an executive assistant

Payment Terms

The card operates as a charge card — meaning the full balance is paid automatically on the 10th of each month via autopay. This keeps you interest-free by default.

Need a little more time? Two days before autopay runs, you'll receive an SMS and email notice. From there you can:

  • Extend up to 5 days — free of charge

  • Defer to the following month — a fee applies (confirm current rate with your Hint rep)


Receipt Collection & Expense Policies

You can set a spending threshold to trigger automatic receipt collection. Here's how it works:

  1. Set a minimum amount (e.g., $25 — the IRS requirement is $75)

  2. Any purchase above that amount triggers a text message asking you to reply with a photo of the receipt

  3. A follow-up text asks for a brief memo (one-liner description)

  4. Both the receipt and memo are attached to the transaction automatically

This makes end-of-year tax prep and reconciliation significantly easier.


Bill Pay

For invoices paid via ACH (rather than card), Hint's bill pay tool lets you:

  • Drag and drop a PDF invoice into the platform.

  • Hint automatically extracts the payment details.

  • Schedule the payment directly. No need to log into your bank separately.


Getting Started

To enable Spend Management, click Request Beta Access through Hint Marketplace and go through the onboarding flow.

Once app is installed, you will go through few short steps:

  • Verify your business: Provide company information and connect your business bank account.

  • Decision & account setup: If approved, your virtual cards are available right away and can be used with mobile wallet; physical cards will arrive 5-7 business days after

  • Configure policies: Create budgets, limits, and restrictions; set receipt/memo and approval requirements.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the Hint Card payment terms?

Hint Card is a pay-in-full charge card. Any outstanding statement balance will be automatically debited on each monthly payment due date from your designated bank account or Hint Balance. If your account cannot be successfully debited on the payment due date, your card may be locked and you won't be able to make new purchases until your balance has been repaid. Late fees may apply.

Does Hint Card have an APR or interest rate?

No, Hint Card does not have an APR or interest rate so long as your outstanding balance is paid in full each month.

Will Hint Spend Management affect my credit score?

Hint does not perform a credit check on you or your business and will not impact your credit score in any way.

What will my credit limit be?

Your Hint credit limit is based on your business financials. To receive a credit limit that is best suited for your business, it's recommended to connect all your business bank accounts during the application process.

What does the application process look like?

The application process typically takes less than 3 minutes, all that's needed is some information on you and your business in addition to connecting your business bank accounts. Once you complete your application, a decision is typically made in real time but can occasionally take up to 2 business days if further information is required.

How soon can I get my Hint Card?

Once approved, your account will be immediately available for use. Your physical card will be mailed to you and will typically arrive within 3-5 business days from the date it's created. While you wait, you will have access to a virtual Hint Card that can be used immediately for online purchases and be added to your mobile wallet.

Can I issue multiple cards?

Yes, you can issue unlimited cards at no cost to your business so that each member of your team can have their own dedicated card, with specific spend controls.

Does Hint Card offer spend controls?

Yes, Hint Card has custom spend controls that allow you to confidently manage your team spend by limiting cards usage to certain categories like fuel pumps or hardware or by setting a specific card budget to limit the total spend a card can incur.

Does the card offer rewards or cash back?

Yes, the Hint Card offers unlimited 1% cash back on all purchases. At the end of each billing period, and after you pay your balance in full and on time, the cash back will be applied to your account as statement credit. Terms and conditions are subject to change.

Can I cancel my card?

Yes, there is no commitment. You can cancel your Hint Card at any time or simply choose not to use your card.

Does Hint Spend Management work with Hint Bookkeeping?
