Patient statuses are similar to membership statuses - however, they are not always the same. If a patient has different start and end dates than their membership, the two statuses may be different.

If a patient is not yet active on a membership, their start date will be shown on the patient screen next to their membership status:

A patient can have one of the following statuses:

Active

A patient's status will be "Active" if all of the conditions are met:

  • The membership they belong to has no unpaid bills

  • The patient is currently on a membership, i.e. today is after the patient's start date and before the patient's end date

Inactive

A patient's status will be "Inactive" if they are not currently active on any membership

Pending

A patient's status will be "Pending" if they have not started on a membership yet, i.e. today is before or on the patient's start date.

Unconfirmed

If a patient signs up through the member portal and you have not yet confirmed the membership they belong to, their status will be "Unconfirmed."

Note: This only applies if your practice does not auto-confirm memberships. You can change this setting by going to Admin > Online Signup Form > Settings > Auto Confirm Memberships.

Unpaid

A patient's status will be "Unpaid" if all of the following conditions are met:

  • The membership they belong to has unpaid bills (or invoices, in the case of a sponsored membership)

  • The patient is currently on a membership, i.e. today is after the patient's start date and before the patient's end date
