Hint Clinical allows you to send text messages to your patients. This support article will show you how to create and send text messages.

Sending an SMS Message

1. In Hint Clinical, navigate to the patient's chart that you would like to send a text message to.

2. In the 'Communications' widget, click '+New' and select 'SMS' from the drop-down:

3. Once in the SMS box, type the text message you'd like to send to your patient and click the send button:

Note: The patient must have a mobile phone number saved to their patient profile to be able to send the outbound SMS message.

You can send messages to a patient from the Communications table as well. Navigate to Communication > SMS, where you can read, archive and send SMS messages:

Hint's SMS functionality was built with a mobile-first approach, offering more space to read messages, less scrolling, and quicker access to conversations. Providers will see the patient/contact profile photo (if available) as well as initials for faster conversation recognition.
