Coupons allow you to create standard discounts that can be applied to memberships from the provider interface or via the online signup form.

You can create a % or $ off coupon, you can limit the number of months for which it is valid or make it for an unlimited period. If you are creating a coupon for a $ amount, you can choose whether or not the coupon applies to everyone in a membership or only to an individual within the membership. An example of a coupon could be '25% off for 3 months', or 'first month 100% free'.

Also, if you want to, you can create a online signup link that includes a coupon already loaded into it so that you can build social media marketing programs or advertising campaigns with discounts pre loaded.

To create a membership coupon:

  1. Click on 'Admin'

  2. From the drop down menu, click 'Membership Options'

  3. Click 'Coupons'

  4. '+ Create Coupon'

  5. Name your coupon and add a description if you would like

  6. Set a monthly discount with a percentage or dollar amount

  7. Set the period of time you would like the discount to apply to

  • Ex: if you would want to give 25% off the first 3 months you would select 3

Set a start date for when patients can first have this coupon applied to their account

Set a end date if you want the coupon to expire. If you do no want the coupon to expire, leave this blank

  • Coupons can be used until the end of the day they expire on

Click 'Create'

To include a coupon in your online signup:

Your coupon will generate a new online signup link that will attach the amount of the coupon to your default membership plan

  1. Click on 'Admin'

  2. From the drop down menu, click 'Membership Options'

  3. Click 'Coupons'

  4. Click on the coupon you would like to include when members sign up

  5. Copy the 'Signup URL' and add that link to your website

If you would like to apply a coupon to a plan that is not your default plan, add ?coupon=couponname to the end of your plan's sign up link URL.

Ex: If my signup link was https://mypractice.hint.com/signup and my coupon was named "Newcoupon", the URL that I added to my site would look like

To add a coupon to a membership:

  1. Search for the patient whose membership you would like to add a coupon to

  2. From their patient tab, click 'Edit Membership'

  3. Scroll down to the 'Pricing' section

  4. Click 'Add Coupon'

  5. Choose from your preloaded coupons which one you would like to apply

  6. Click 'Update'

The coupon will automatically be applied on their next bill and the bills section of their membership will reflect the total price including the coupon discount.

Q: The discount on the membership doesn't match the coupon - what is going on?

The coupon discount applied per month can't exceed the value of the membership (on a monthly basis).

Example membership: $250 Annual Membership

$250 / 12 months = $20.83 per month

If you try to apply a $30 one-month coupon to this membership, it will only apply a $20.83 discount to the first month.

If you wanted to apply a $30 discount to the bill, you could use a two-month $15 coupon, three-month $10 coupon, etc.
