Remove the member from the current membership
To separate members from the same membership, you will first need to remove the member you wish to have their own membership.
To remove a dependent from a membership:
Navigate to your Patient List.
Search for the primary member (the payer) and click on their name to open their record.
Click 'Edit Membership' or click the 'Membership' tab and select desired membership
Click 'Remove Patient' next to the patient's name you wish to remove
Select an end date (can be any end date up until the next bill date)
Select a cancellation reason from the drop-down menu (if applicable)
The next bill for the membership will reflect the new price without the dependent's fee. If you'd like to process a prorated refund, just process a partial refund on the paid invoice or prorate any outstanding invoice by following these steps.
Click 'Update' to save the termination.
To remove the primary payer from a membership, but keep the dependents active:
Navigate to your Patient List
Search for the primary member (the payer) and click on their name to open their record.
Click 'Edit membership'.
Click 'Change Payer' and select who you would now like to pay for this membership
Scroll down to the 'Members' section.
Select an end date (can be any end date up until the next bill date).
Select a cancellation reason from the drop-down menu (if applicable).
The next bill for the membership will reflect the new price without the primary's fee. If you'd like to process a prorated refund, just process a partial refund on the paid invoice or prorate any outstanding invoice by following these steps.
Click 'Update'.
This will terminate the primary payer's membership effective their next bill date. The dependents will stay active and all invoices will now show up under the new payer's 'Invoice Tab'.
Enroll the member in a new membership
Once removed, you can enroll this patient in their own membership by following the steps below.
Navigate to your Patient List.
Search for the patient and click on their name to open their record.
Click '+New Membership'.
Ensure that you select the correct plan, start date, and bill date.
Their start date on this membership cannot overlap with their end date on the membership they were removed from.
Scroll to the bottom of the page and click 'Create Membership'.
