Admin users can change the role of any users in their Hint account by following the steps below:
Click on 'Admin'
From the Admin menu, select 'Account'
Click on the 'Users' tab
Click 'Edit' to the right of the user's name and select from the roles listed below
Click 'Save'
Note: If you are a Core + Clinical customer, you will not have the 'Users' tab under Admin -> Account. Please reach out to Hint's support team to update user settings on the Core side of the platform.
Admin
The 'Admin' role gives users full access within the Hint platform. Admin users have the following abilities:
Change admin (account configuration) settings
Edit patients
Edit employers/employees
View and export reports
Issue credits
Process payments
Issue refunds
Revise invoices
Add broker deals to memberships
Add and edit inventory items
Manager
The 'Manager' role gives users access to managing the account but prevents them from changing any account configuration settings. This means that they do not have access to the Admin menu or Broker Accounts/Commissions settings (though they can add broker deals to memberships.
Manager users have the following abilities:
Edit patients
Manage patient invoices
Edit employers/employees
Manage employer invoices
View and export reports
Issue credits
Process payments
Issue refunds
Revise invoices
Add broker deals to memberships
Staff
The 'Staff' role gives users access to patient and employer information but limits their access to account configuration settings and reports. Staff users have the following abilities:
Edit patients
Manage patient invoices; only limitation is that they cannot revise issued patient invoices
Edit employers/employees
Manage employer invoices
Issue credits
Process payments
Issue refunds
Add broker deals to memberships
Staff Limited
The 'Staff Limited' role gives users the ability to mange patients and employees but limits access to certain action on patient accounts. Staff Limited users have the following abilities:
Edit patients
Manage patient invoices; only limitations are that they cannot revise issued patient invoices or issue refunds
Manage notes
Edit employers/employees
Add charges to employer invoices & create one-off employer invoices
Process payments
Reports Only
The 'Reports Only' role limits access to the patients and employers sections in Hint. Users under this role will not receive any email notifications from Hint. Reports Only users users have the following abilities:
View and export reports
Staff Limited and Reports
This role combines both the Staff Limited and Reports Only roles together. Users with this role have the following abilities:
Edit patients
Manage patient invoices; only limitations are that they cannot revise issued patient invoices or issue refunds
Manage notes
Edit employers/employees
Add charges to employer invoices & create one-off employer invoices
Process payments
View reports
Read-Only

Read Only And Reports
'Read Only And Reports' users will be able to:
View and export reports
View patients
Though these users will be able to open patient profiles and view demographic & membership information, they will not be able to make any changes.
'Read Only And Reports' users will only receive the new patient email notifications.
Practice Billing Only
This role allows a user to only access the 'Billing' Tab under Admin --> Accounts. This is for anyone in your practice who needs access to your Hint Invoices but should not have any access to PHI. As a 'Practice Billing Only user, you can:
See any issued, paid and past due invoices owed to Hint
Update your payment source we use to process payment on invoices owed to Hint
Restricted By Location Groups
'Restricted by Location Groups' users can only see patients assigned to location groups that the user has access to. Read more about these users here.
