To create an invoice when the patient is responsible for the payment, follow these steps:
Search for the patient in the search bar
Click on their chart
Click on their 'invoices' tab
Click '+ New Invoice' in the upper right corner
Start typing the charge name and select the charge from the dropdown options
Click 'add charge' to add additional items or 'issue' once the invoice is ready for payment
The green 'process payment' button at the bottom of the page to select a payment source or 'record payment' to acknowledge cash or check payment.
**Note: if the patient doesn't have a payment source on their account, click 'add payment source'
