How to use Hint Copilot

To use Copilot Note:

  1. On a patient's Clinical chart, click + New Interaction

  2. Select the Note Interaction

  3. Click Copilot Note

  4. Click Start Recording

  5. When you are finished with the recording, click Stop

  6. Click All Done. Generate AI Note

  7. This creates the SOAP note in the Note Interaction and an After Visit Summary as an additional note on the patient's interaction list.

To use Copilot Chat:

  1. On a patient's Clinical chart, next to Health History, click Copilot Chat

  2. Type in your request or question and submit

Sample Questions that you can ask Copilot Chat:

  • Create a referral using this patient's medical history and last note for a cardiologist

  • Brief bullet point history of this patient

  • Write a letter to this patient for XYZ

  • Write a note for school/work for these dates

  • Create a 1week diabetic meal plan for this patient using mainly whole foods, minimal meat, and include a shopping list

  • How can I sign up for Copilot?

    • Copilot is a feature available to clients on our Clinical + Growth tier. If you are currently on the Clinical tier and would like to upgrade to Clinical + Growth, please email support@hint.com!

  • Where can I learn more information and schedule a demo to see Copilot in action?

    • You can learn more about Copilot and schedule a demo call here!

  • Where do my audio recordings save to?

    • The audio recordings can be found in the File Drive, under the Patient's Name > Recordings.

  • Do I have to use a certain internet browser?

    • Yes, you must use Google Chrome. We plan to expand browser support to additional internet browsers.

  • Why didn't Copilot record significant portions of my visit?

    • Copilot only records the provider's half of the conversations for virtual visits

  • Is there a limit on my Copilot recording?

    • You can record up to 90 minutes in one recording.

  • Will the Copilot note use my saved Clinical templates?

    • At this time, the note will be generated in a standard SOAP note format.

  • Can I write in the note interaction window while I’m recording?

    • Yes! The AI-generated note will be appended to the bottom of any notes you’ve taken during the visit.

  • Is Copilot HIPAA-compliant?

    • Yes, patient data is protected and HIPAA-compliant.

  • Does my patient need to sign anything? What are my legal requirements?

    • We recommend gaining consent from your patient before recording. Please check with your legal counsel for requirements specific to your state.

  • Can I pause the Copilot Note recording and then restart the recording?

    • Yes, you can click Pause during the recording and then click Resume to start recording again. Audio will not be recorded while it is paused.

  • During a Copilot note recording, how frequently is it being saved to my practice's file drive in the cloud?

    • It saves every 10 seconds.

  • Can I make an audio recording on another application or device and upload the file into the Copilot note?

    • Yes, you can upload an audio recording file to a Copilot note. To do so:

      • On a patient's Clinical chart, click + New Interaction

      • Select the Note Interaction

      • Click Copilot Note

      • Click Upload Audio File

      • Click Select Files

      • Select the recording file from your device to upload to the Copilot Note

      • Once you have selected the file, click All Done. Generate AI Note

  • What audio file formats are supported to upload to the Copilot Note?

    • .mp3, .wav, .webm, .ogg, & .m4a are the supported audio file types

  • Can I upload a video file or other file format into the Copilot Note?

    • No, video file formats and other other file formats are not supported.

  • What if I lose my internet connection during the recording, how can I upload the recording to the patient's note?

    • The Copilot note is still recording on your device, even when your internet connection is lost. If you lose internet connection during the recording, continue the recording until you are finished. Next, you should:

      • Click the Stop Recording button

      • An error message will appear stating: "Something went wrong during your recording, please click this download button to save your recording to your computer"

      • Click Download. This will download the audio file to your computer.

      • When you have an internet connection again, you should upload this downloaded recording to the Copilot note. To do so:

        • Go to the patient's Clinical chart, open the Note Interaction

        • Click Copilot Note

        • Click Upload Audio File

        • Click Select Files

        • Select the recording file that you previously downloaded

        • Once you have selected the file, click All Done. Generate AI Note
