One-time Charge Checkout Page to Appointment Scheduling Redirect

Learn how you can set up an Express Checkout page for a patient to sign up, pay, and then schedule an appointment all in one workflow!

Note: this article is only applicable to customers using Hint Clinical

Part 1: Copying your "Appointment Booking Link" URL

  1. Go to 'Hint Clinical'

  2. Click 'Settings' from the menu bar

  3. On the Settings page, click on 'Appointment Types'

  4. Click 'Appointment Booking Link' for the appointment type that you would to have a patient schedule after signing up. Selecting this button will copy the link to your device

Note: If you have not set up your Calendar Location, Clinician Availability, or Appointment Types yet, please reference those support articles to complete this. This has to be completed for your appointment scheduling features to be enabled!

Part 2: Adding this Appointment Booking Link as a Redirect to your Express Checkout "One-time Charge" Signup Page

Step 1: Create the charge:

  1. Go to 'Hint Core'

  2. Click on 'Admin'

  3. Click on 'Charges & Taxes'

  4. Click '+ New Item' and configure the name, price, charge category and description. Then click 'Create'

Step 2: Create the Express Checkout "One-time Charge" Signup Page

  1. In Hint Core, click on 'Admin'

  2. Select 'Online Signup'

  3. Click on the 'Signup Pages' tab (at the top of the page, next to 'Global Settings')

  4. Click '+ New Signup Page'

  5. Select the Shopping Cart Icon

  6. Select the charge item (e.g. Virtual Visit, House Call, etc.)

  7. Name the URL in the 'checkout/' field

  8. Enable 'Confirmation Settings' toggle switch

  9. Enable 'Auto Redirect to External Site' toggle switch

  10. Click in the 'Redirect URL' field and paste the 'Appointment Booking Link' that was copied to your device

  11. Click 'Create' (or 'Update' if you have already created this checkout page)

You did it! Now when patients go to your checkout page URL that you've created, they will sign up, pay for the one-time visit, and be redirected to your scheduling page to schedule this appointment with you!
