Adding the New Member
Navigate to the membership owner's patient record
Scroll to the 'Memberships' section of the owner's record and click 'Edit Membership':
Within the membership, scroll to the 'Members' section and click '+Add Adult' or '+Add Child'
A search bar will appear:
If the patient already exists, type their name into the search bar & select them
If the patient does not exist yet, click 'Add a new patient' under the search bar and enter their information
The new member's start date will default to the membership's next bill date.
Scroll to the bottom of the page and click 'Update' to save your changes.
Billing For the New Member
The new member's rate will be added to the membership's next bill. As such, if the new member's start date is today, you may need to create a prorated membership invoice or prorate the next membership invoice in order to bill for the new member from today's date through the membership's next bill date.
Note: If you choose to prorate the next membership invoice, you can issue this invoice in advance by clicking 'Invoice Now' in the 'Bills Overview' section of the membership:
Then proceed to making your changes to the issued invoice.
FAQs
I have a patient in a membership who falls within the set age range of a child, but is not being billed as a child. Why is this?
Firstly, check to see if this patient was added as an "Adult" on the membership. If you added the patient as an adult, they will not be accounted for as a "child" in the membership, even if they fall within the age range.
Example: You may have a spouse that falls in the child age range, but they should not be priced at the child dependent rate or included in the single parent max as a child.
